Hi Everyone
We’ve had a busy few weeks here at Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge! From our Winter Seminar with Professor Victor Estima through to our brilliant Interclub, it’s been a fantastic few weeks at the academy.
November saw us wrap our first GBF programme - we loved seeing new faces on the mat and the energy brought throughout the 8 week course! We’re really excited to be bringing a permanent women’s only class to Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge. This will be taking place on Thursday evenings, and it’d be fantastic to see as many of our female members there as possible. There is of course space for new members, so if you know a friend who might be interested, why not bring them along for a free trial, and enjoy a referral reward if they sign up?
We had a great evening at our Winter Seminar with Professor Victor, and a big well done to Professor Khalil for earning his first degree on his black belt! A big thank you to everyone who attended to support the academy, and we hope you all took something great away from the session to add to your games!
Finally, we had a brilliant day at the Gracie Barra Harrogate x Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge interclub at the weekend. We were so proud and inspired of the effort shown by all of our GBK students, and a HUGE well done to everyone who took part - you were AMAZING!
Next up, we’ll be closing for a few days of the Christmas period - so see our temporary timetable below for class times until 2025!

Christmas Break Opening Times
We’ll be taking a short break before the New Year - but don’t worry! We’ll still be running open mats and all levels classes throughout to ensure you get your Jits-Fix! Book on as normal on gym desk and get your training in throughout the break.
Parents - don’t miss our parent and child session running on the 30th for Tiny Champs and Little Champs 1 - come and join us on the mats!
Victor Estima Winter Seminar
A big thank you to everyone who came down to our Victor Estima Winter Seminars! We had a brilliant time celebrating the success of 2024, whilst learning some unmissable tips and tricks from one of the sports biggest names, and the Head of Gracie Barra Europe!
A shout out to Professor Khalil who earned his first degree on his black belt! A well earned reward for your years of training and coaching!
Gracie Barra Harrogate x Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge Interclub
A massive WELL DONE to the amazing GBK students who took part in our Interclub competition at the weekend. We were so proud and inspired by everyone’s efforts, and every single competitor did AMAZINGLY well! We loved to see the great sportmanship and everyone having fun, all whilst showing some awesome Jiu Jitsu! Keep up the good work, team!
Timetable Updates
We’ve made some adjustments to our timetable going into 2025, and we’re really excited to be introducing a permanent women’s only class on a Thursday evening! This follows a brilliant GBF programme at the academy, and we’d like to give a big welcome to the new faces that have joined the academy off the back of the course wrapping up!
